    Hi,
I am new to this forum and would like to know if anyone has any ideas of where and how I can store a large amount of footage other than using external hard drives. I currently shoot with Panasonic HVX and I capture to a g-raid hard drive. After the project is complete I transfer all of the footage and project files to an external hard drive. Last November, I went to retrieve some footage from a few years ago and found the hard drive defective.
Are there companies that offer this service?
    Thanks
    Laura

Yes, the question of archiving all of that digital footage.

I am more and more coming to the conclusion that the most reliable long-term archival solution is DLT or LTO tape. LTO is preferable but it is a lot more expensive. DLT might be slower but a bit more reasonable. And then $30 or so cartridges hold 300 gb of data.

While I have advocated the inexpensive route of using hard drives as archival media, your experience is the exact reason why sometimes we can be penny-wise pound-foolish.

Take a look at some of the Quantum DLT offerings both in direct-connect as well as network models.
