  • DELL or NEC monitors ?

    Has anyone worked with dell ultrasharp monitors or NEC monitors? I am trying to find a cheaper option than apple. These are used for editing not external viewing.

    I had also rated one NEC when I was 1st putting specs together but that was in about 4th place.

    Anyway, I got the BenQ and and am real happy with it.

      New egg is listing a BenQ t241W not the the fp241w(wich is the old model) for a really good price. The monitor seems to have a different response time and not as many connectors but seems to be a good monitor. I talked to benq and they said the FP241VW is the replacement for the fp241w , this monitor seems awesome but it is a little pricey,But seems to be the best monitor for the price. does anyone know if benq fixed the black out problem? does anyone have an opinion on the t241w?

      here is the link to new egg;

        The brightness on the T241W is not as good (not even close) as the FP241W, no PIP and the viewing angle is not as good either. I can't find any reference as to what TFT technology they used but in general it looks as though they may have made some compromises to target a broader audience based on price and the addition of the cheesy speakers.

        The FP241VW has been around for quite some time and as I recall it is only slightly newer than the FP241W was.

        In general, if you can wait until NAB it might be best. I've got to think that a few companies should be announcing new monitors soon and Apple is way overdue.

            Does anyone know of any good monitors that came out at NAB? I looked at the BenQ monitors, but the latest monitor has a vary strange stand and if you put two together, there will be a very large bar in the middle. any other monitor reccomendations out there? I am looking for either 2, 22"-24" monitors priced between $400 and $600-ish, or one very large monitor for $800-$1200 range.

            any help would be great.
