There really isn't a standard. It largely depends on your market & experience level.

The going rate in one place is different than another. From LA to New York to Chicago to Seattle to Atlanta to Chattanooga... the same job will command different paychecks.

Is there an hourly standard for editing?

Can't go wrong with an hourly or daily rate. That way your profit doesn't depend on a client's decisiveness in the editing room. You can base an estimate off a block of time. I'd expect at a conservative estimate as least 6 weeks to get to a decent edit. You know your market better than we do though...

how much to charge for editing documentary?.....

    Dear all

I have been asked how much I would charge to edit a 45 minute documentary. When I asked what their budget was, they said 100,000.

any ideas of how much I should charge?
