    RLT is seeking an Unreal Game Engine Graphics Engineer-Photoreal Runtime for a Los Angeles entertainment facility specializing in high end virtual interactive experiences. This is a well-financed start-up company working with proven bleeding-edge technology, and populated with top tier talent from the Visual Effects, VR/AR, and Music Industries. This Los Angeles branch is part of a successful enterprise with offices internationally. This is a rare and exciting ground floor opportunity for the right individual.

    This is a full-time, permanent position starting ASAP (remote to start and then in-studio when it’s safe to go back). Excellent benefits and compensation.

    Responsibilities:
    • Self-driven, enthusiastic and able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • You are a creative engineer with wide interests, from engine, to shading, to artificial intelligence to art.
    • Contribute to the vision and architecture for the visual effects system.
    • Optimize performance and memory profiles of rendering subsystems
    • Work with the head researcher and content and creative team to identify, implement and architect solutions to our system.
    • Able to implement creative solutions to meet project constraints and goals.
    • Stay abreast of technology trends and techniques in visual effects rendering as it pertains to real-time graphics engines.
    • Communicate and share with the creative and content teams’ novel solutions.
    • Help develop best practices to design our codebase
    • Understand game development cycle and aid in the establishment of practices that lead to the success of our team.

    Required skills.
    • CS Degree or equivalent Engineering degree.
    • 5+ years of programming experience in C/C++, CUDA, Shading Languages
    • Systems design, low-level engineering, optimization.
    • Experience with multiprocess, multi-thread, GPGPU
    • Engine experience, preferably with Unreal
    • Strong mathematics skills
    • Creative thinking
    • Excellent debugging and performance analysis skills
    • Ability to break down problems and design code features
    • Scripting languages, Python, JavaScript, others
    • Capacity to tackle novel problems creatively, effectively under tight deadlines.

    Desired Skills:
    • A full-stack engineer preferred
    • Research-oriented curiosity, desire to break through established boundaries
    • Understanding or interest in human physiology and kinematics, physics, simulation
    • Understanding of Machine and Deep Learning, Pytorch, Tensorflow or others

    Education:
    • 4-year college degree or technical certifications
    • Graduate degree preferred
